Four Seasons Gardening program offers spring series | Life

The spring series of University of Illinois Extensions Four Seasons Gardening program, WaterSmart Gardening, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26.

It will focus on environmental stewardship, home gardening and backyard food production. The session will be presented via distance technology at the Bureau County Extension Office in Princeton, the La Salle County home improvement Extension Office in Ottawa and creative outdoor designs the Marshall-Putnam Extension Office in Henry.

With home improvement water sometimes a precious commodity, especially during the summer with droughts, WaterSmart Gardening will provide helpful hints on minimizing and conserving water, while still maintaining a healthy details for your garden landscape. Extension Specialist David Robson will share tips and techniques and technology the latest in watering equipment.

Other topics in the spring series include Utilizing Containers and Raised Beds to Grow Vegetables, Tuesday, May 10 and Backyard Greenhouse Basics, Tuesday, May 24.
